The Run for Veterans

11/15/2013 - Retired Marine Sergeant Brendan O'Toole of Alexandria, Va. just completed a year-long road trip to raise awareness about the difficulties veterans face upon their return to civilian life. He ran 3,600 miles through 21 states, from Oceanside, California to Portland, Maine. The Run For Veterans raised $400,000 for three charities - the USO, Give An Hour, and Team Red, White and Blue - that provide social, mental and physical support for vets and their families.




Chief Sauschuck of the Portland Police Department accompanied Sgt. O'Toole on the last mile of his run, ending at the East End Beach in Portland. Watch the last mile:
