Portland Police Arrest Suspect in an Old Port Stabbing
Police have charged one man in connection with a stabbing in the Old Port. 23 year old Christopher Johnson of Portland was taken into custody yesterday at police headquarters. He is charged with elevated aggravated assault for the stabbing of a 22 year old Portland man during an altercation on June 7th in the area of Fore Street and Wharf Street. The victim, who was stabbed multiple times, has now been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Detectives identified Johnson following interviews with witnesses and after reviewing video provided by an area bar.

Johnson’s photo is not being released as detectives continue to investigate this incident. He is currently being held at Cumberland County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned during his first court appearance Friday.
