PPD Youth Program Wins Harvard Pilgrim Kudos
Formed a little over a year ago, club MIS began when five young ladies from Kennedy Park approached Youth Services Officer, Bethany Murphy, about starting a club through the PAL program. These young ladies were from different cultures and backgrounds and called their club M.I.S. for "My International Sisters". Through the club the girls have learned the importance of developing club rules, a mission statement, and have voted on peer leaders. The M.I.S. program serves to bring together young women from different cultures and backgrounds while focusing on service to the community. While this is still a new program, they have made a great impact on local young girls and local community projects.
