Police Investigate Bank Robbery

Portland Police are investigating a bank robbery at Bangor Savings Bank located at 1048 Brighton Avenue. A lone perpetrator entered the bank shortly after 9:00 A.M. and threatened the teller. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot. He was last headed inbound on Brighton Avenue and may have gotten into a vehicle at the intersection of Brighton Avenue and Rand Road. There were several customers and employees in the bank at the time. No one was injured and no weapon was displayed. Surveillance photos from the bank captured images of the perpetrator and are attached. The perpetrator is described as a white male with a dark goatee; he is about six feet tall and medium build. He was wearing a black and gray sweatshirt with “ECKO 72” on the front, a dark knit cap and sunglasses.
