Aggravated Assault Arrest
At approximately 0200 hours, September 17, 2012, Adam J. Delano DOB: 05-16-89 of Portland was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

At approximately 2120 hours on September 16, 2012, Portland Police officers responded to a wooded area at the end of Sewall Street for a report of an unconscious man who had been severely beaten. Officers arrived to find 47-year-old Jeffrey S. Fry of Portland lying in a wooded path unconscious with extensive facial injuries.

Information obtained from witnesses, including the suspectís description, assisted officers in locating Delano a short distance away from the scene.

The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center, where he was admitted for life threatening injuries to include fractures to his face and skull as well as internal injuries. Due to the seriousness of the victim's injuries, investigators have been unable to interview him.
Delano and Fry are homeless and are believed to know each other.

Delano was interviewed and transported to the Cumberland County Jail. Due to the ongoing investigation, Delanoís arrest photo will not be released at this time.

Bail has been set at $5,000 dollars cash.

Aggravated Assault is a Class B crime.
