$10,000 Reward in Darien Richardson Murder
The family and friends of Darien Richardson offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for her death. On the night of January 8, 2010 Darien and her boyfriend were attacked in her home at 25 Rackleff Street. They were sleeping when an intruder shot them. Darien later died suddenly and unexpectedly of complications resulting from the gunshot wound. We now suspect the shooting was related to illegal trafficking of the prescription drug Oxycontin. We do not believe Darien was involved in drug trafficking but rather is a victim of the violence associated with it.
Ballistic tests confirm that the same gun used to kill Darien was also used on February 10, 2010 in the murder of a man on Park Avenue. That case has been solved and the gun recovered but we are no closer to identifying Darien’s killer. Law Enforcement has long known that guns are a valuable commodity in the illegal drug trade and are often sold between criminals. These two cases are a clear example.
