senior lead officer program
Our Community Services Section (CSS), will be led by Lieutenant Janine Roberts, and will work directly out of the Office of the Chief of Police. This organizational move will allow me even closer access to the community. Our Senior Lead Officer program, along with other community initiatives, such as CPAB , the neighborhood prosecutor and community forums are the centerpiece of our community partnerships. Lieutenant Roberts is a tenured member of the Department who has a successful history of establishing working relationships with community members.She welcomes the opportunity to work with you.
Sergeant Andrew Hutchings has been selected as our new Community Services Sergeant to provide overall management of our community policing enhancements. In addition to working closely with you, Andy will help coordinate our Community Policing Advisory Board (CPAB) and will provide functional supervision of the Senior Lead Officers and the Youth Services Officer. Andy came to the Portland Police Department in August of 1998 and was promoted to the position of sergeant in the Fall of 2009. Most recently, he has been working as a supervisor in patrol.
These are exciting times and I look forward to working with all Portland
residents as we start this initiative.
