Criminal mischief   (11/12/2008)
Between 11/10 @ 10 p.m. and 11/11 @ 9 a.m. three individuals reported that the rear left tire of their vehicle was slashed. It is suspected more vehicles may have been damaged during this criminal mischief spree but have not been reported. Target vehicles were parked on State and Deering Streets. If your vehicle was damaged while parked in the West End over the last couple of days please call the PD at 874-8479 to file a report.

Burglary on Coyle Street  (11/3/2008)
On 10/31 at 10:00 a.m. an unknown male attempted to gain entry to an occupied residence on Coyle Street by smashing the glass on a rear door. The homeowner confronted the suspect and the suspect ran away. Physical description: W, M, 16-20, 5'4-5'7, 110-150, long pale face, sandy colored hair, clean shaven, wearing a Yankees jacket and hat, blue jeans. If anyone has any information about this incident please contact CID at 874-8553.

Stolen inspection stickers  (11/3/2008)
Inspection sticker thefts in E. Deering continued this weekend (11/1-11/3) with two reports filed by an auto repair shop in Morrill's Corner. The suspect is using a small handheld torch to heat and remove the sticker from the windshield. The suspect in these incidents is still unknown. Previous post from mid-October: Several businesses on Ocean Avenue reported that an unknown person entered the company van, often by force, and took the vehicle's inspection sticker from the windshield between 10/21/08-10/22/08. A similar incident was also reported on Presumpscot Street on 10/20/08. All of the vehicles were Ford or Chevy vans and were parked in lots behind the businesses. There are no suspects at this time.

Commercial burglary  (10/23/2008)
A building that houses two commercial establishments on Ocean Avenue was burglarized between 10/21/08-10/22/08. Entry was gained by forcing a first floor window with a pry tool. Both offices were ransacked. One office reported cash taken while the other suspected prescription slips may have been taken from a pad that was left in the office.

W. End mv burglary spree  (10/9/2008)
About a half dozen vehicles were burglarized this week in the West End. What made this spree slightly different from some other recent sprees was that the passenger side window was smashed to gain entry. Burglaries occurred overnight on Emery, Carleton, and Spruce. Target items included: IPods, GPS units, compact discs, and bags.

Residential burglaries in N. Deering  (10/9/2008)
There were 2 reported residential burglaries this week on Bailey and Braintree Streets. Targeted homes were unoccupied single families. Some force was used to gain entry to both homes. Entry was gained via side or rear windows/doors Suspect(s) were after electronics and jewelry. Please report suspicious activity to the PPD.
